Basketball Competition
Teams – 5 Participants; 2 alternates
Rules:
1. Scoring: The goal of the game is to get the basketball in the hoop more times than the opposing team.
2. Fouls: Players must avoid committing fouls, such as charging, blocking, pushing, or holding opponents.
3. Time Limit: The game lasts 15 minutes, with a break at the 7.5-minute mark for halftime.
4. Out-of-Bounds: The ball is considered out of bounds if it touches the ground outside the boundaries of the court or if a player steps out of bounds while holding the ball.
5. Substitutions: Coaches can substitute players during stoppages in play to manage player fatigue and matchups.
6. Timeouts: Each team has 3 timeouts that they can use strategically to regroup or adjust their game plan.
7. Referees: Officials enforce the rules of the game, call fouls, and ensure fair play.
Winner: The team with the highest score at the end of the game or overtime period wins.
**Games will be refereed by experienced TRIO coaches/players/staff.
