3 Point Shoot Out Competition
Teams – 5 Participants; 2 alternates
Objective: The objective of the competition is to score the highest number of points by making successful shots from designated 3-point shooting spots on the basketball court.
Participants: Open to TRIO individuals who meet the eligibility criteria.
Format and Rules:
1. Time Limit: The competition may consist of multiple rounds, with each round having a set time limit for shooting.
2. Scoring: Each successful shot made from beyond the designated 3-point arc earns a predetermined number of points. Shots made with a foot on or beyond the 3-point line count as valid attempts.
3. Shooting Spots: Participants can shoot from multiple designated spots around the 3-point arc. These spots may vary in difficulty, with some closer to the basket and others further away.
4. Rounds: The competition may consist of preliminary rounds followed by a final round. The top performers from the preliminary rounds advance to the final round.
5. Final Round: In the final round, participants compete head-to-head or in a shootout format to determine the overall winner.
6. Tiebreaker: In the event of a tie, additional rounds or a sudden death shootout may be used to determine the winner.
7. Foot Placement: Shots must be taken with at least one foot behind the designated 3-point line. Stepping on the line or crossing it invalidates the shot.
8. Scoring Verification: A designated official or scoring system verifies and records each made shot and the corresponding points earned.
9. Fair Play: Participants must adhere to the rules and regulations of fair play. Any unsportsmanlike conduct may result in disqualification from the competition.
10. Winner: The participant or team with the highest total score at the end of the final round is declared the winner of the 3-point competition
